Qualification and Experience
Graduated from University of New South Wales with a Master degree in Commerce (professional accounting), after having earned a Master of Philosophy (M Phil) and Bachelor of Science in University of Hong Kong.
Became a Chartered Accountant in 1992 and continued his post graduate study while working in Richard A Bobb Chartered Accountants. Obtained Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments in 1997 and Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning in 1999.
Admitted as a partner in Richard A Bobb Chartered Accountants in 1997 and has worked in the accountancy profession for over 25 years, nearly 20 years of which as a principal in accountancy public practice.

With a science and research based M Phil background, David takes an analytical approach in his professional work, in helping clients and in life in general.
There is a reason for everything – be that success (or the lack thereof) in business or in life, relationship with others, health or happiness. If one can identify the goal, address the relevant issues and analyse the factors that are conducive to a desired outcome, then one can have more control over the happening of events and therefore the desired outcome.
Passions in Tax and Business Advisory
David does not call himself an accountant: “Anyone can do accounting work; it is not difficult to become a Chartered Accountant to carry out routine accounting and tax compliance work. The value I add to my clients comes from a higher level of Tax and Business Advisory.”
Points of difference
David is proactive and innovative in applying his skills and experience in tax and business to help clients structure their business and tax affairs before any major transactions are contemplated with a view to achieving the best tax outcome. He often told his business clients: “You make a profit or gain not when you sell an asset, but when you purchase an asset. The secret is to structure the purchase so that you minimise the tax impost as much as possible down the track so that you do not donate unnecessarily to the government”.
Team approach – David works closely with a team of professionals including lawyer, licenced financial advisor, licenced mortgage broker and licenced real estate agent to provide a holistic and seamless services to clients.
